Since I never read the
first book in the Port Aster Secrets Series, I was a little concerned I wouldn’t
be able to follow Blind Trust by Sandra Orchard. Although I was confused at
points, I did enjoy the overall book. The book begins with Kate Adams being
arrested for circulating counterfeit money when she goes to the grocery store
to pick up some groceries for her elderly neighbor. She soon finds herself
trying to prove that her neighbor is innocent, which connects her again with
Detective Tom Parker as he is investigating the case.
I really liked the
mystery and suspense part of this book, since I don’t typically read this type
of book. It was definitely fast paced, which made me not want to put the book
down. There was also the perfect amount of romance mixed into the book. The
characters were all very likable, but I think I would have liked them better if
I had read the first book in the series. I would definitely recommend that you
read the Deadly Devotion before reading Blind Trust if you don’t want to be
confused throughout the story.
