The Letters

Rose is looking for a way to earn money to keep her mother-in-law’s farm surviving while still staying home to raise her children. What better way to do that than by opening a bed and breakfast in her Amish Community? When Delia finds herself facing the end of her marriage and a cancer diagnosis, The In at Eagle Hill provides just the rest she needs. Throughout the book The Letters, Suzanne Woods Fisher finds a way to connect to every age group. I found myself particularly looking forward to hearing about Bethany. A 19 year old girl who thinks she is in love with a young Mennonite boy who does not seem to share the same feelings. There is the eldest member of the family, Vera, who is constantly criticizing those living in her house. When her son dies, his family, including his second wife, Rose, their 2 young boys Luke and Sammy, and their young daughter Mim find themselves under her roof.

 

I really enjoyed this book, and I was excited to read about some of the characters that were the focus of other books by Suzanne Woods Fisher. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!!
